Chamomile and Lemon Balm Tincture

A gentle nervine tincture using two of the most beloved calming herbs. Both are easy to grow or forage, making this an accessible introduction to herbal stress management.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup fresh chamomile flowers (or 1/2 cup dried)
  • 1 cup fresh lemon balm leaves (or 1/2 cup dried)
  • 2 cups vodka (40% alcohol)

Preparation:

Harvest chamomile flowers when fully open and lemon balm before it flowers for best potency. If foraging chamomile, ensure you have true chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla) with its distinctive apple-like scent.

Lightly bruise fresh lemon balm leaves to release oils, then combine with chamomile in a clean jar. Cover with vodka and proceed as with the immune tincture.

Extraction and Straining:

Follow the same 4-week extraction process. The finished tincture will have a golden color and pleasant, calming aroma.

Usage for Stress:

Adults: 1/2 to 1 dropperful when feeling anxious or stressed, up to 3 times daily. Can also add 1 dropperful to a cup of warm water as a bedtime drink.

Benefits:

Chamomile gently calms nerves and helps with sleep. Lemon balm lifts the spirits while reducing anxiety and tension. Together they provide effective stress relief without drowsiness.

Perfect For:

Daily stress management, exam anxiety, trouble sleeping, or whenever you need gentle nervous system support.
